Governor Rick Scott Appoints Laura J. Starr to the 15th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commisssion (“JNC”) (March 2017-July 2018). JNCs select applicant/nominees to fill judicial vacancies within the Florida court system. Commission members vet and interview each applicant then typically submit three to six names of the qualified applicants to the Governor. The Governor then makes the final selection from the list.
